Speaking from a shoe design perspective, buying quality shoes has always been the most important item to buy. I don’t put price limits on shoes like I do with clothing. If I know I love a pair of shoes, and it’s going to be worn many times, and for years to come, I will opt to pay full price, and will definitely splurge.

Many think I have hundreds of shoes, but in reality, I have a curated selection, and when I’m ready to move on from one, that’s when I will add another shoe. I’ve always been a minimalist.

WIth the pandemic, I have not really been on a shoe kick because I’m working from home, and am barely doing any in person meetings. I may see a supplier or a local factory but that’s really it. Having said that, I’m looking for comfortable clothing, and shoes that I can either wear at home, walk my dog, or run to the grocery store. I don’t need any $1000 sandals this summer. Well, ok, maybe if it was these Chanel’s …I may consider it… I still haven’t taken the plunge though. I digress…When I lived in Spain, I discovered COS. I was happy when this Swedish affordable brand came to the US, and often add some great staples from them to my wardrobe.

I really love what they’re doing in footwear right now. It’s minimal, classic, and quite affordable. These are a good option for those coveting a Chanel version. This gives me a Jil Sander vibe. For those who love The Row, but can’t afford their price tag, these are a great option. I ordered these over the weekend, and am looking forward to seeing if they workout. I’ve always been a fan of the convertible back.
